That’s an excellent record! One of my favourites as well. I don’t know if you are aware of this, but this album is essentially improvisation. Miles Davis wrote the basics and then he and the other musicians ‘jammed’ it out with this as the final product.
“As the painter needs is framework of parchment, the improvising musical group needs its…En afficher davantage

Hey James, thank you for your feedback. I would find cut outs like that quite annoying as well. But I also hate having wires sticking out in plain sight. I can run wires through the walls of my home but that seems complicated considering the layout of my home. I might want to hire someone to do that. I’ll need to think this one over carefully.…En afficher davantage

I have a question regarding high fidelity wireless audio. Is it possible to maintain a high quality audio feed over a wireless network, say from a stereo to speakers? Intuitively, I feel that the audio signal will be compressed and ultimately will lose some of its depth. Can anyone fill me in? I would love to eliminate the wiring in my home but…En afficher davantage

24bit 96kHz audio is 4.6Mbps without any compression for stereo (2 channel), and these days the standard 802.11n wifi routers (like Apple’s AirportExpress) start at 7Mbps. So, it’s definitely possible to send uncompressed audio to speakers even with consumer networking gear. I suspect that some sort of lossless or even high quality lossy…En afficher davantage

Hi Alex, I installed a wireless system for a client not too long ago. She did not want the “Future Shop” solution, so I went digging. I had just sold and installed a pair of KEF R300s so I asked my sales rep if he knew of anything out there. Apparently, KEF has a wireless kit and it sounds great. It’s designed for rear speakers within a home…En afficher davantage

Alex, wireless is cool and discreet-when it works! I run a wireless network at home using Apple’s AirportExpress. More often than not it works fine. But…every once-in-a-while it cuts out. These cu-outs are momentary and VERY annoying! If you can run wires, do it. They will not-and will never- fail unless you have a cat or squirrels.
