Hey John, I stumbled onto this article and it reminded me of the concerns you raised regarding gentrification in Montreal and it the effect it is having on the music scene. Clearly, this is an issue that is causing lots of problems for members of the industry, such as yourself. Among those who will loose are the fans who want to see live music in unique venues. Is there any way that you can share this struggle with them? I expect that if they are aware of such large fines being imposed on artists they would share that with others and increase the level of awareness in the city. Ultimately, I believe we would like to city by-laws to protect the local music scene in Montreal.
