Important goings on regarding work visa’s for foreign workers or LMOs. Concert promoters are now subject to paying massive fees for work visas for musicians from outside of Canada. The federal government says the increase in cost of permits is to encourage booking of Canadian artists first, however the business reality of the music industry is that people want to pay to see bands & artist that are trending & hot regardless of where they are from, this is certain death for many smaller venues, bars & even promoters.
