Hey John, I stumbled onto this article and it reminded me of the concerns you raised regarding gentrification in Montreal and it the effect it is having on the music scene. Clearly, this is an issue that is causing lots of problems for members of the industry, such as yourself. Among those who will loose are the fans who want to see…[Read more]

Vinyl forces you to play the album as a whole (or at least one side for single record publications) as opposed to skipping to your favourite track. You can appreciate the recording as whole and start to recognize the…[Read more]-
While I’m not a fan of the technology of vinyl, this is definitely something that has changed (for the worse IMO) since those days. The comoditization of digital releases through the constant push of singles (which existed in the vinyl days, but wasn’t anywhere as easy as it is now) has all but destroyed the concept of ‘album’. I definitely think…[Read more]

I totally agree with what you said regarding artwork. Having a much larger space to work with, when it comes to vinyl, means that the artwork is often times way more striking. I also believe that it gives the artist more freedom to express the intentions of their album. For example, I just purchased Arcade Fire’s Reflektor and really enjoyed the…[Read more]

Christopher Murtagh started the topic CCR and Chicago in the forum I saw a great concert/show recently 12 years, 1 month ago
Being a trombone player, I’ve always been a fan of Chicago and especially their trombone player, James Pankow. I took my kids to go see them (it was their first rock concert), and we had a blast. It’s amazing to think that the horn players have been in the same band for over 45 years!

I would also prefer piano black, but would accept rosenut too.
Well you know as soon as I give a gift, the social convention is that you reciprocate with a gift of similar value. So if you want to contribute to my vinyl collection feel free ;)
