If you’re looking for a birthday present for me (you’ve got 6 months to save up), I would *love* a pair of these:

24bit 96kHz audio is 4.6Mbps without any compression for stereo (2 channel), and these days the standard 802.11n wifi routers (like Apple’s AirportExpress) start at 7Mbps. So, it’s definitely possible to send uncompressed audio to speakers even with consumer networking gear. I suspect that some sort of lossless or even high quality lossy…[Read more]

While I’m not a fan of the technology of vinyl, this is definitely something that has changed (for the worse IMO) since those days. The comoditization of digital releases through the constant push of singles (which existed in the vinyl days, but wasn’t anywhere as easy as it is now) has all but destroyed the concept of ‘album’. I totally agree with what you said regarding artwork. Having a much larger space to work with, when it comes to vinyl, means that the artwork is often times way more striking. You did! The show was fantastic, Minna (@minnareshin) really nailed it as did Shawn Mativetsky and Jonathan Voyer.

Christopher Murtagh started the topic CCR and Chicago in the forum I saw a great concert/show recently 12 years, 1 month ago
Being a trombone player, I’ve always been a fan of Chicago and especially their trombone player, James Pankow. I took my kids to go see them (it was their first rock concert), and we had a blast. It’s amazing to think that the horn players have been in the same band for over 45 years!

I would also prefer piano black, but would accept rosenut too.
Well you know as soon as I give a gift, the social convention is that you reciprocate with a gift of similar value. So if you want to contribute to my vinyl collection feel free ;)
